“I have a feeling that inside you somewhere, there’s something nobody knows about”, this phrase from the Shadow of a Doubt is what pretty much summarises the idea behind The Woman in the Window.
Author A.J. Finn, known for his prolific writing, sets up the character, this time, in the New York City. Dr. Anna Fox, a psychologist trying to ease the mind of disturbed children while grappling with Agoraphobia is one of the strongest character sketches I have come across in a very long time. She has been housebound for months now and often concludes her nights watching the humdrum around her through the window in her living room.
The observations coupled with timely medications, gallons of merlot, and a series of Hitchcock classics is what incentivizes her to live a little longer until the Russells arrive into her life.
